This year marks a special moment in the life of Grace Church; we will be adding our first deacon through a congregational vote. Every member has the opportunity to nominate and then vote for a man who meets the biblical qualifications outlined in Acts 6 and 1 Timothy 3.
Those nominated must be members in good standing, demonstrating a clear testimony of faithfulness; assembling regularly, serving joyfully, giving generously, and edifying the body through both word and deed.
Per our church bylaws, all deacons are to be nominated and affirmed by the congregation. The elder(s) will review all nominations to ensure each nominee meets the biblical and bylaw qualifications for the selection of deacon before being presented for a vote.
Please note: if someone does not appear on the final ballot, it may be because they were either unqualified according to Scripture and our bylaws, or unable to accept the nomination. This process is open to all voting members of Grace Church.
Process Overview:
The top two qualified men from the nomination phase will move forward to the congregational vote.
The individual with the most votes will be elected to serve as deacon.
The second will serve as an alternate, ready to step in if the need arises in 2026.
Nominations: Open through Sunday, October 26, 2025
Deacon Vote: Members’ Meeting, November 2, 2025
You can submit your nominations using the link below or by filling out a paper form available in the Main Hall and placing it in the black box provided.
